The ASSFACE diet is made up of two parts. The ASS part stands for added…sugar…sucks, and the FACE portion stands for fruits & veggies…also contain…carbs…eat those.
Let’s break those down...
Added sugar sucks because it makes you gain weight, it can have negative health impacts, and it doesn’t offer proper nutrition to sustain your body over the long term. This is why you often see foods and beverages high in added sugar like soda, wine, cookies, and pastries will often be a part of an obese individual’s diet. There’s too much caloric energy and not enough actual food substance, and so the excess energy is stored in the body. Depending on their genetics, people will gain this excess weight around the midsection, in the lower body, on the upper body, or all around the body.

Let’s move on to the FACE portion of the ASSFACE diet. Although the main culprit is added sugar, added sugar is not the only reason for excess weight gain.
High glycemic carbs like white bread, French fries, and all of those carby junk foods break down into simple sugars inside the body. The body needs carbs, but it wants good carbs: fruits and vegetables. When most people think of carbs, they don’t think fruits and veggies, but these Whole Foods are perfectly designed by nature to nourish our bodies without adding excess energy.
This is why the FACE part matters too: In addition to added sugar, you have to eliminate those junky processed carbs and choose healthier carbs if you want to lose weight and keep it off.

So, by remembering the acronym, ASSFACE (added, sugar, sucks, fruits & veggies, also contain, carbs, eat those) you can tailor your diet, eating fruits, veggies, healthy proteins and fats.
This doesn’t mean you have to eat like a rabbit, either. You can enjoy steak and asparagus, eggs with cheese and bacon, and even a cheeseburger on a lettuce wrap (just skip the fries and bun). If you choose a vegan diet, you can focus heavily on fruits and veggies and forgo the meat ingredients while instead choosing plant-based protein alternatives. In any case, ASSFACE Diet asks participants to stay away from added sugars and simple, high-glycemic carbs like white bread, potato chips, processed breakfast pastries and the likes.
