The ASSFACE Diet acronym is a reminder to stay away from added sugar, while also reducing processed foods, white bread, and white potatoes.
ASSFACE stands for:
Added
Sugar
Sucks
Fruits & Veggies
Also contain
Carbs
Eat Those!
The ASSFACE diet acronym sounds silly, but it is not a joke. It helped me lose 108 pounds, and I've seen it work for dozens of my clients too.
So many people who want to lose weight have the same complaint -- they don't feel like they eat enough to be as overweight as they are. Why? Well, in some of these cases, the individual isn't properly tracking their food intake. But more often, the quality of the food they are eating is the bigger issue.
Foods high in added sugar like soda, cookies, cakes, and pre-packed processed snacks typically contain high calories, but offer little in the way of nutrition and long-term satiation. The same applies to other "junk foody" carbs like potato chips, French fries, highly processed breads, and processed snacks. These foods can cause excess weight gain as well, as they don't provide long-term fullness and break down into sugar in the body.
Why ASSFACE?
Whole foods, like fruits, veggies, legumes, meats, and even dairy will provide more satiation, better nutrition, and you often get much more bang for your buck in terms of the amount of food you get for the calories.
Clients using the ASSFACE Diet acronym as a reminder are often able to maintain the lifestyle change required to lose weight and keep it off. The ASSFACE Diet still allows for a lot of fatty and rich foods, you just have to stay away from sugar and carbs. You can even have something sweet in the form of a piece of fruit or a fruit salad, just no added sugar.
